The challenge
Peru's Statistical Compendium concentrates a vast amount of official, high-value information for citizens, researchers, businesses, and public entities. However, accessing this data requires navigating thousands of tables, indicators, and variables, making search and interpretation complex. The challenge was to democratize access to this statistical knowledge, allowing any user to find and understand official information without needing to know database structures or master specialized query tools. To achieve this, it was necessary to build an experience capable of understanding questions formulated in natural language, identifying relevant information across multiple data layers, and delivering precise, contextualized answers backed by official sources.

We transformed Peru's Statistical Compendium into a conversational query experience, enabling access to thousands of official data points through natural language, without needing to know database structures or manually navigate extensive statistical tables. The bot integrates AI, MCP, hybrid semantic search, and multiple data layers to interpret questions, find relevant information, and convert complex data into clear, contextualized, and easy-to-understand answers.
